Yes, its a small shop, but they make up for it with good family cooking. Dad cane out and took my order to go, his sons prepared it. It was delicious, Beef ribbs, 3 ribs with sides. I recommend adding a 4th ribb. So no one fights over the 3rd ribb. It was that good! Thanks guys! -Jonathan

A group of 4 went to Brown's for an early dinner tonight and the food was amazing! Three of us had fried chicken and one had fried catfish. It was all really good, seasoned well, crispy, and hot (cooked up fresh when you order it). Dinners come with 2 sides and cornbread. Between the 4 of us, we had collard greens, red beans and rice, black eyed peas, and mac & cheese. All were delish! The cornbread tasted like it was fresh from the oven and was yummy, like cornbread should be. Servings were plentiful, we each had enough for 2 meals and took home leftovers. We did not leave room for dessert, but I'll bet those are good too. The family owned and run business is small (only about 6 tables of 4), but food comes packaged to go, so you can take it with you if you can't find an empty table. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. The owner has been cooking since he was 13 and he's now 78, so the younger generation is stepping up. He was so welcoming and friendly, we enjoyed our conversation with him as much as the food. If you're in the Palm Springs area and in the mood for soul food, this place is for you. It's not fancy or in the trendy part of town (more like an industrial area), but it was clean, welcoming, and the food was terrific. We are eager to return! OFT THE HOOK GOOD!!!!! I decided to try fried chicken wings, fried catfish, baby back ribs, fried shrimp, Mac n cheese, collards, cornbread, potato salad. Everything I ate (all above except for the potato salad) was outstanding, with the kind of crunchy savories expect out of superb soul food. The breading was insane in the fried items. The Mac was just what I grew up with (I call it "black" Mac & cheese which is different from the creamier "white" Mac N cheese. The ribs were flavorful and tender, with just a tiny kick to them. Cornbread was good. Greens were real good, although a bit too subtle to gain the "crazy good" label. But all in all, this place knocked my socks off. I'm home.

Will definitely go back, take friends and recommend. The food was great. I really liked the potato salad and fried chicken. They were make / cooked to perfection. The corn bread was nice and hot and the Mac and cheese had a perfect combination of ingredients. The food was just right not over this or under that.

Trying this place out. Only place that's has southern comfort foods in my area that I found and smells great when I came in. Greens I think were canned unsure but not great. Catfish was good. I haven't been back cause I didn't care for the greens. Overall, I personally will give it another try in the future.

I've had Collard Greens in the past that had more of a vinegar flavored broth, these were more subtle in flavor and without vinegar, tender and tasty! My wife doesn't eat much fried chicken but she said she would like to eat more of this fried chicken!! We come through Palm Springs once or twice a year - this place will always be on our "Top Eats List" in Palm Springs. Don't be confused by all of the construction out front, a new business is moving in next door and messed up the entry to his business - Drop in, you won't be disappointed - good eats!

Ummm yes. This place was a great find! Amazing food, amazing service. The small shop vibe reminds me of the south. I'd definitely come back next time I'm in town

We were craving some exceptional BBQ, so we let Yelp lead us to Brown's - we were NOT disappointed! The ambiance here isn't fancy; the objective in visiting here isn't to soak up the atmosphere, it's to enjoy some truly exceptional BBQ. Tip: The dining area is one small room with just three tables; if you don't find the atmosphere appealing or there are no vacant tablesl, then order your food to-go. We ordered a food selection of food and shared everything; we got Catfish & Fries and Rib dinner with Collard Greens and Mac & Cheese sides; we also got a side of cornbread. Everything was really good, even the sides (which are often an afterthought at must BBQ restaurants, but not so here). The Catfish was wonderful, with a crispy, even coating of bread crumbs that was perfectly cooked and seasoned just right. The ribs were phenomenal - wonderfully well seasoned and fall-off-the-bone tender. The BBQ was accompanied by a generous portion of fries that were fresh, hot, and fried to a delicious golden brown :-) To sum it all up, we ended up eating some of our food at one of the tables inside, and took the rest of our order home. While everything tasted exceptional, in the future I'd just assume get all of our food to-go and eat it at home. If you, like me, are a person who truly appreciates good BBQ, then I highly recommend Brown's!

Great bbq and soul food here in PS. Quick in and out for pick up or can sit in- sits are limited but I like enjoying the hot bbq as soon as it comes out. Friendly staff!
